Soul Serum official website launch!

After countless hours of meeting with my website designer through trial and error, the time has finally come. Our main website for our multimedia platform is finally launched and we couldn’t be more happy! In celebration of the launch, I wanted to write about what Soul Serum really is to my team and I, the history of all that has happened so far this year, and what our plans are for the future.

The roots of Soul Serum will and always will be a platform that creatives can always come to promote their work, to continue to inspire and motivate artists, and give artists the spotlight they deserve. We are trying to form a community. We are based out of Cincinnati, OH, but the goal is to be universal!

I didn’t really know what Soul Serum was going to turn out to be when I came up with the idea. Matter of fact, Soul Serum wasn’t even the name of my so-called platform when I was first starting out. It eventually hit me going through plenty of different names and Soul Serum just stuck with me. When I first knew I wanted to create this platform back in December of 2017, the main goal was to really throw shows. My cousin, Brett Thomas, who had a huge impact on me growing up had a huge influence on me. He would put me onto all the up and coming artists and he would show me all of his concert videos at the time. Unfortunately, he passed away at age 26 and I was only 19. When he died, that had a huge impact on me and it really made me think what is really important in life. I already knew I loved music, I was just confused as to what I was going to do with my life after his death (career wise).

Since then, I have been for going to shows all over the country: whether it be tours for artists, music festivals (really just Rolling Loud, the best festival in the world it’s not even close), or any kind of underground show I can make it to. I love traveling with friends and going to these shows. Everyone who is on the Soul Serum team are people who I go to shows with. I’ve seen every big time rapper you can think of, really. From crowds of 50 people in a room to 80,000 people at Rolling Loud. Each and every show that I’ve seen in my life inspired me more and more each time I went. I love the atmosphere, how connected you can become with strangers through the music, and really it’s an escape from reality for many. That’s what I love most about it. I knew deep down that I wanted to be involved in the music industry somehow, someway.

It eventually just hit me to where I knew I had to make that jump and create a platform to where I can throw shows myself instead of trying to find an internship with some wack company who I have to take orders from. So, me and my best friend Conner Seither, came together and made this business together. I’d rather build a community with my friends and throw shows for artists who really appreciate the work we are doing at Soul Serum. Our first show we ever threw was for one of my best friends, Pangeaux, who we help promote. We are starting locally here in Cincinnati, but the plan is to bring the biggest and up and coming artists to the city. We also, wanna throw shows in other cities as well when the timing is right. But as everyone knows, Rome wasn’t built in one day. We gotta do one show at a time.

Throwing shows is where my passion for music rooted from because I love to lose my fucking mind at shows and deck people in the moshpit. But I knew there had to be some kind of organized team of creatives we had to put together to create an influence, I couldn’t just do it on my own. When I had that thought, literally that week this little kid from down the road hits me up asking me to work for Soul Serum. I didn’t really think anything of it at first, but I hit him back and see what he had to offer. Little did I know it was good old John Buchanan. Also, little did I know that this kid is the future of directors. He has already established himself as one of the best directors in this area, and will soon be globally known. John is not only a director, he’s a graphic designer as well. He does it all. He really is the glue of the team. Artists if you are reading this, I highly advise you to go to our Youtube page and check out his work. Then book him for a video before it’s too late. He’s gonna blow up it’s only a matter of time. John will have a huge influence with not only our brand but also his personal brand. His name will be well known in this industry very soon. John also designs all of our merchandise, which has been great as of late.

The goals for the short term are to continue to authentically grow the brand through throwing event coordination, blogging/vlogging, music videos, and merchandise. There are a lot of lanes we are stepping out feet into. We are failing and learning everyday, and we are trying to find that recipe. I personally love the journey I’ve been on so far through all the ups and downs.

My main goal is to be able to put creatives in a position to do what they love to do and make a living off of it. Whatever your personal journey may be, I want Soul Serum to be able to put you in that position to thrive and prosper. That’s what this is all about.

I want to give a quick shoutout to my website developer, Jared Rice, for all of his hard work and creating this beautiful website! It came out way better than I envisioned from when we first met up and became partners. If anyone reading this needs someone to develop a website for you, Jared is definitely your guy.

And finally, thank you to everyone who has supported me personally over the last year and thank you to everyone who supports Soul Serum! It hasn’t even been a year yet and I feel like we’ve already made huge strides and we’ve all grown so much. Now that the website is done, we can really take off and start 2019 off right!

Meet the team!
