A recording artist since 2017, JAY cut his teeth originally as just a rapper. However, he later transitioned to singing and found his niche. His seamless combination of new wave RnB, Dancehall, and Pop has made his music standout from his peers in Maryland’s predominantly trap sounding environment. Sunset Views is a warm dancehall/pop song with afrobeat undertones. It has a dance on the beach type vibe, and it also has a warm summer night on the freeway hair blowing out the window carefree vibe. The song’s narrative is loosely focused around a guy trying to rekindle things with an old fling. He thinks about her often and wants to re-introduce her to his life. His best memories are them sitting on the beach watching the sunset.
