“Patience”

At 20 years old the artist known as COTIS is not the conventional act you hear everyday. The sound of his new project “Patience” can be described as a modern day enigma that can not be boxed in as one genre, the sound is definitely a mix of multiple genres, molded together into the unique sound you hear today. The producer of the project Andrew Luce & COTIS are the pioneers of this unique type of music that they categorize as “Hip-Hop/ Rap” which is totally acceptable in todays music climate.  The “Patience EP” was constructed in 2018, while taking multiple trips to Luce’s home-studio in Hollywood. The duo worked very closely to put together this collection of songs. R&B, Pop, modern-day Hip-Hop, with a sprinkle of funky feel good music that touches the soul make up all the sounds you hear on “Patience”.  Notable records on the project were “Control (Freestyle)” this is the most well produced record on the project as Luce’s production is a huge standout, as it has so many different layers to it, from the guitar to the vocals of COTIS which is an instrument in itself, the song is just so well structured and soothing in everyway. Another track that caught my attention was “Timeless”, as COTIS again toys with genres, this song is more on the Rap & Alternative spectrum of music, as it does have potential of becoming a radio smash, it is for sure a leading candidate as one of the best songs on the project.

More than excited to hear what COTIS can potentially become in the future.
