504ICYGRL – Trap Etiquette

New Orleans rapper 504ICYGRL breaks into the scene with her aggressive debut EP titled ‘Trap Etiquette’
504ICYGRL aka Angel is a child of the late 2000’s Gucci Mane/Young Money era, and this can be seen in her brattish, sassy delivery. Her lyrical content is decidedly one-minded, mainly involving the money she makes and the people she fucks with as well as those that she definitely doesn’t. After dropping the Captain Crunch-produced single ‘thank u, next’ a few months back, she’s delivered her first EP in the form of Trap Etiquette. With well-chosen production from the likes of Foster, Lukrative and BrentRambo, Angel is able to deliver multiple takes on her trap-oriented music. The tape is very singular in its content, ‘Bad Lil Bitch’ is the strongest take on her sound, the hook is sharp and the vocals pummel the beat with little subtlety. ‘504icygrl’ is also very solid, here the trap brags reach their peak. ‘Stupid Paid’ is the other major success, it’s the most melodic joint on the project by far and Angel is at her most charismatic. Overall, a very decent first drop from a rapper with definite potential for major stardom.
